Race Format:

• Qualifying: The number of practise and qualifying rounds will vary based on the venue and weather. The Fastest-3 consecutive laps will be used to seed the mains.
  
  • Fixed time: 2 min
  • Fastest-3 consecutive laps
  • Finish last lap after timer sounds and count if finished
  • Race starts on the tone
• Mains: The top-16 pilots of the qualifiers advance to a double-elimination bracket.  The Top-3 after the final race will be recognized for podium placement and awards.
  • Best 3 consecutive laps * based on course
    
  • Race starts on the tone
• The Top-20 in each region will advance to Sunday’s Qualifiers on Track #1, while having a practice with a pack limit (ex. 10)  on Saturday
• A Last Chance Qualifier will be held on Track #2 on Saturday.
• The top 50% of the Last Chance Qualifier to a maximum of 10 pilots will advance to Sunday.
• The Advancing LCQ’s will have an equal pack limit (ex. 10) on Saturday
• The National Qualifiers and Advancing LCQ’s will Qualify for One of Two Championships, (Top-16 Double-elimination & Chase the Ace Final & the Next-16 Intermediate Double Elimination Brackets & Chase the Ace Final)
• Team Racing – Time Trials will be held on Track 2 Saturday. The Final will transpire on Track 1 Sunday, seeding from the top-4 teams (ranking by top-pilot from each team on Time Trials).  Will be a 100-lap Race, enduro style, Max 4 pilots, Max 2 crew near pit or flightline.

Additional Details And Participating Pilot Requirements:

Ground Stations: We will provide ground stations, so you need to be ready to plug and play with your goggles.

MAAC Membership:  All races in this series will be MAAC sanctioned events so all pilots must have current MAAC or AMA memberships to fly. Please see www.maac.ca for details on joining MAAC – note that there is a special three month trial rate available for new members. (or AMA for US-based Pilots).

40 Channel vTX/Antennas:  We require 40 channel compliant vTX’s for our races. You must have 25mw. Please come prepared to change your vTX and/or the channel/band and/or the power of your vTX as needed for each race.  We also recommend having both RHCP & LHCP Antenna, as we will be alternating per channel, per race track.
