COMPETITIONS ON THIS TRACK

Back by popular demand is one of the most fun drone racing events ever invented, 1 quad 2 pilots!  In this comical merge of skill and technology each pilot will control one stick on the radio and they must work together to navigate the course AND beat the other pilots.  Grab a buddy and a quad and have a blast!

Requirements:

  • 800g or less
  • No battery limit.
  • No prop limit

Pre-Registration Required!

Call yourself a builder? In a first-of-it’s-kind race, International Open participants are invited to complete in the IO Build N’ Fly competition! Participants race against the clock and each other to be the fastest to build their quads from a kit of new, unopened parts, and be the first to successfully fly their quad through the track successfully.

Eric Gever and SegTech Solutions partnered with Five33 to bring this unique experience to the International Open!

Up to 24 participants will receive a full kit of brand new, in-package parts to build their entire drone for the competition. You must register by The kit will include high quality parts from popular drone racing vendors:

  • Five33 Carbon frame with TPU camera/antenna mounts
  • Five 33 High-performance 6S motors
  • Hobbywing 20x20mm F7 Flight controller + 4-in-1 ESC Stack
  • Five33 provided ELRS Receiver w/ antenna flashed with 3.0 (you can use your own if different, but you must bring a NEW IN THE BOX receiver)
  • Five33 provided Polarized VTx antenna
  • Five33 provided Analog Video transmitter
  • Foxeer camera
  • HQ Props

Once built, all participants will keep their drone and get to enjoy flying it for the rest of IO. Not only will this race be a ton of fun, but this is by far the cheapest way to build a quality new drone that you can use for the rest of the event!

The IO Build N Fly Competition will be held at the All Skills Track from 6pm-8pm Thursday, June 12. Bring your own tools, batteries, radios, and goggles to the track, and your kit will have all the parts you need to build the drone for this competition.

Official Rule set

Let’s race!  The idea for the group races is that using predetermined data we can group pilots to provide more actual drone racing at IO then drone qualifying.  When the group races are scheduled to start, there is no qualifying or practice, it’s RACE TIME!  So be at the track 30 minutes early to check in!

Requirements:

  • 800g or less
  • No battery limit.
  • No prop limit

Qualifying Heats:

  • None

Format:

  • Triple run mains,  to a final main
  • 2 Lap Race
  • Pilots are randomly assigned into one of 6 subgroups of up to 8 pilots.
  • Each subgroup will race 3 times. The winner of the subgroup will be determined by combined finishing position in all 3 races. The tie-breaker is the pilot with the  best single finishing position (1-2-3, beats a 2-2-2) . If there is still a tie, then the best laps/time from the best finishing position run is the final tie breaker
  • Subgroup winners will advance to the A-Main event for 3 races, which will follow the same format to determine the winner of this group race.

No one has more fun at a MultiGP event than the Rookies!  The Burnt Motors Finals will be a full double elim style format like the World cup!
