An outstanding weekend in Monroe, Washington at Diehard RC for the North -West Regional Final, stop #4 of the 2018 MultiGP Regional Series presented by the Academy of Model Aeronautics. With 90 pilots qualified in the region and 55 attending their regional final, it made for the highest qualified attendees per capita of all of the regional finals to date.
Over the course of the practice rounds and qualifiers, the pilots to watch were Jordan “JET” Temkin the NW Region Top-Qualifier, Brodie “Robogenesis” Springer – the Regional Final Top-Qualifier and Kody “Kody” Knudtson who was trading the lead with these two and qualified 2nd to the Championship Brackets, and many, many more fast pilots from Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Alaska and from across Washington.
On top of the excitement, there was a MultiGP First with a tie-breaker in heads-up bracket racing where both pilots crashed into the same gate at about the same spot. Additionally to trophies, challenge coins and DRL Racer 3’s to the top-3 pilots, local partner Diablo Hobbies provided tons of prizes randomly awarded to the top-32. Over-all, we had a blast, racing, streaming and even racing 1/10 scale trucks on a carpet track. DiehardRC is definitely a great venue for anything hosted in the air.
